About this role

Key Responsibilities

1. Tax Compliance

  • Manage and oversee all tax obligations across the Group and its subsidiaries.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation, review, filing, and settlement of all applicable taxes.
  • Oversee Corporate Income Tax, Withholding Tax, Payroll Tax, VAT where applicable, Stamp Tax, Real Estate Tax, and other applicable taxes.
  • Maintain a comprehensive tax calendar covering all Group entities and statutory deadlines.
  • Ensure proper tax reconciliations between accounting records, tax returns, and supporting schedules.
  • Monitor tax payments and ensure timely settlement of all tax liabilities.

2. Financial Services Taxation

  • Provide tax support and advice for the Group's Leasing, Factoring, Consumer Finance, and Mortgage Finance activities.
  • Review the tax implications of new financial products, financing structures, business arrangements, and commercial agreements.
  • Review the tax treatment of leasing transactions, factoring transactions, consumer finance transactions, mortgage finance transactions, and related fees and income.
  • Review the tax treatment of interest income, financing fees, commissions, administrative fees, penalties, early settlement fees, and other revenue streams.
  • Review the tax implications of securitization transactions, portfolio sales, financing arrangements, and other structured finance transactions.
  • Support Finance and business teams in assessing the tax impact of new products, transactions, and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure appropriate tax treatment of intercompany transactions and Group transactions.

3. Tax Risk & Advisory

  • Identify potential tax risks and exposures across the Group and recommend appropriate mitigation actions.
  • Monitor changes in Egyptian tax laws, regulations, executive regulations, and tax authority practices.
  • Assess the impact of tax law changes on the Group's financial services businesses.
  • Provide tax advice to management on significant transactions and business decisions.
  • Review contracts and agreements from a tax perspective in coordination with Legal.
  • Support management in evaluating the tax impact of new business models and transactions.

4. Tax Audits & Tax Authority

  • Act as the main Finance contact for tax-related matters with the Egyptian Tax Authority.
  • Coordinate and manage tax inspections, audits, assessments, and tax authority inquiries.
  • Prepare and review responses, reconciliations, and supporting documentation requested by tax authorities.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors and consultants when required.
  • Monitor open tax assessments, disputes, and potential tax exposures.
  • Ensure timely resolution of tax authority queries and outstanding tax matters.

5. Payroll & Employee Taxes

  • Oversee payroll tax compliance in coordination with HR and Payroll.
  • Ensure appropriate tax treatment of employee salaries, bonuses, benefits, and other compensation.
  • Review payroll tax calculations and statutory submissions.
  • Ensure timely settlement of payroll-related tax liabilities.
  • Coordinate with HR on employee-related tax matters while maintaining appropriate segregation of duties.

6. Tax Accounting & Reporting

  • Review tax provisions and tax-related balances for financial reporting purposes.
  • Ensure accurate recording of tax liabilities and payments.
  • Prepare tax schedules required for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Support external auditors during year-end audits.
  • Provide management with periodic reports on tax liabilities, payments, exposures, assessments, and key tax risks.

7. Tax Governance

  • Establish and maintain appropriate tax policies, procedures, and controls across the Group.
  • Ensure consistent tax treatment across subsidiaries while considering the specific nature of each business.
  • Review tax processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce tax risks.
  • Maintain complete and organized tax documentation for all Group entities.
  • Ensure proper documentation of tax positions and significant tax judgments.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7–10 years of relevant experience in taxation, preferably within a corporate, financial services, or Group environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Egyptian tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong practical experience in Corporate Income Tax and Withholding Tax.
  • Good knowledge of Payroll Tax and other applicable taxes.
  • Good understanding of financial services transactions and accounting.
  • Experience with tax audits, inspections, assessments, and the Egyptian Tax Authority.
  • Experience managing tax matters across multiple legal entities is highly preferred.
  • Experience with securitization, structured finance, or financial products is an advantage.
  • Strong Excel, analytical, and financial reporting skills.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
