Responsibilities
- Provide real-time Tajiki ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.
- Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism in immigration, asylum, and legal contexts.
- Maintain confidentiality in line with USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
- Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge interpretation needs.
- Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.
- Native or near-native fluency in Tajiki (Tajik Persian) and English.
- 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, asylum, community, or government strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.
- Strong communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 security clearance.
- Competitive pay: $28–35/hour (rare-language premium).
