- Provide real-time Shanghainese ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.
- Interpret accurately, neutrally, and professionally in immigration, legal, and administrative contexts.
- Maintain confidentiality in line with USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
- Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge interpretation requests.
- Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and QA audits.
- Native or near-native fluency in Shanghainese (Wu Chinese) and English.
- 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, community, or government preferred).
- Strong knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.
- Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to stay accurate under pressure.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
- Competitive pay: $28–35/hour (rare-dialect premium).
