About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant (Japanese Speaker) to join our Procure-to-Pay (P2P) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Accounts Payable operations, GR/IR reconciliation activities, resolving stakeholder queries, and driving timely resolution of transactional and system-related issues. The role acts as a key liaison between vendors, business users, Procurement, Logistics, Finance, and support teams to ensure effective issue management, accurate reconciliations, compliance with internal controls, and continuous process improvement. This role requires strong analytical skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to communicate effectively in Japanese and English.

Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary point of contact for Japanese-speaking stakeholders and vendors, while providing AP/P2P support across APAC countries.
• Analyze and resolve GR/IR discrepancies, unmatched transactions, aged balances, and P2P-related exceptions.
• Manage stakeholder and vendor queries through ticketing platforms, email, and other support channels, ensuring resolution within agreed SLAs.
• Investigate operational and system-related issues, working closely with Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Business Users, and technical support teams to identify and implement solutions.
• Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor and track open tickets, escalations, and outstanding issues, providing regular updates and reporting.
• Support month-end activities, reconciliations, KPI reporting, and operational performance analysis.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, compliance standards, and company policies.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, analysis, and issue resolution support.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, service delivery, and stakeholder experience across the APAC region.

Requirements
• 2-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable, P2P, or Shared Services environment.
• Fluent in Japanese and English (Spoken and written).
• Experience handling vendor and stakeholder queries across Japan and other APAC countries within a regional or global environment.
• Knowledge of SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools is an advantage
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Understanding of internal controls, compliance, and audit requirements is an advantage.
