Network Engineer
About this role
We
are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with more than 4 years of hands-on
experience in designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise
network infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have strong technical
knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, wireless networks, network
security, and troubleshooting across multi-site environments.
The
Network Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and
efficient operation of the company’s network systems while supporting business
continuity and future growth.
Requirements
- Design, implement, maintain, and support LAN, WAN,
WLAN, and VPN network environments.
- Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls,
wireless controllers, and other network devices.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and
capacity to ensure optimal operation.
- Troubleshoot network issues, outages, and performance
bottlenecks in a timely manner.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring network
incidents and implement permanent solutions.
- Maintain and manage network security controls,
including firewalls, ACLs, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and segmentation.
- Support internet connectivity, MPLS, SD-WAN, and
site-to-site connectivity across multiple branches.
- Collaborate with system administrators, security
teams, vendors, and other teams to support infrastructure projects.
- Perform firmware upgrades, patching, and configuration
backups for network equipment.
- Create and maintain network diagrams, technical
documentation, SOPs, and asset inventories.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and business
continuity initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, security standards,
and industry best practices.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior
engineers and help desk teams.
- Assist in planning network expansions, upgrades, and
migrations.
- Work with vendors and service providers to resolve
escalated issues and support new implementations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information
Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in network
engineering or network administration.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, NAT,
VPN, QoS, and subnetting.
- Strong experience with routing and switching
technologies( OSPF, BGP, ISIS, STP, MLAG).
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, network
security, and wireless solutions.
- Experience with enterprise network vendors such as
Cisco, Fortinet, Huawei, MikroTik.
- Familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting
tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG, ZABBIX, or similar platforms.
- Good understanding of network security best
practices and standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and
communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple
priorities.
