ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you a skilled technician looking for your next challenge? G+D Australia is seeking a motivated Maintenance Technician to join our Operations team at Knoxfield. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on production machinery (new and legacy).
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of production equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments to maintain optimal equipment performance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and spare parts inventory using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Support production line changeovers, equipment start-ups, and shutdowns.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and drive process improvements.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with ISO, Good Manufacturing Process (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and company safety standards.
- Identify and implement opportunities for equipment upgrades, process improvements, and cost savings.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
- Undertake other duties as assigned within the scope of your skill set.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in maintenance/service of automated production machinery (FMCG, packaging, plastics, or high-speed manufacturing preferred).
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controller PLC-controlled equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, and modern automated systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and service documentation.
- Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Highly detailed and maintain a high level of delivery on all work, demonstrating high attention to detail and commitment to quality, with an analytical approach and strong research skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver’s licence; forklift licence highly regarded.
- Ability to perform manual handling (up to 10 kg), stand for long periods (up to 7+ hours per day), and operate keyboard/PC (approx. 4-7 hours per day).
