Job Description
- Read and interpret piping isometric drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, and construction specifications.
- Measure, cut, bevel, align, fit-up, and assemble pipes, fittings, valves, flanges, and supports according to project requirements.
- Prepare pipe spools for welding and ensure proper alignment and dimensional accuracy.
- Install carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and other piping systems.
- Perform fit-up activities for butt weld, socket weld, threaded, and flanged connections.
- Mark reference points and dimensions on piping components.
- Install pipe supports, hangers, guides, and anchors as per approved drawings.
- Coordinate with welders, riggers, and supervisors to complete piping activities efficiently.
- Conduct visual inspections of fit-up and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Assist in hydrotesting, flushing, pneumatic testing, and commissioning activities.
- Identify and report material shortages, defects, and construction issues.
- Maintain housekeeping and ensure work areas remain clean and safe.
- Follow all HSE policies, permit-to-work requirements, and site safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Pipe Fitter in Oil & Gas industry.
- ITI / relevant educational background.
- Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, API, and project-specific piping standards.
- Knowledge of piping materials, fittings, valves, and fabrication techniques.
- Strong knowledge of piping installation practices.
