About the position 

As a global firm, GHD continues to expand our market presence across North America. We are currently seeking a Senior Proposal Coordinator to lead U.S. Federal Government pursuits and proposal activities and manage the development and implementation of pursuit plans and strategy.  

This role involves managing cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic plans for proposals, ensuring compliance with solicitation requirements, and driving the proposal process from inception to delivery. The position requires creativity, innovation, and strong leadership skills to effectively engage with clients and internal teams, ultimately aiming to secure competitive offers for architecture, engineering, environmental, construction, and other professional services contracts. 

Responsibilities 

  • Manage proposal efforts for our DoD clients 

  • Lead proposal strategy discussions, GNGs, and kick-off meetings for U.S. federal pursuits. 

  • Drive development and manage proposal team including technical leaders, marketing coordinators, technical writers, and graphics. 

  • Manage proposal teams through the development and production process from start to finish. 

  • Collaborate with the team in developing various proposal sections including resumes, project descriptions, management, and other sections and volumes as required. 

  • Facilitate color reviews and status review meetings 

  • Facilitate timely production and delivery of finished product while complying with all solicitation requirements and ensuring accurate application of GHD branding. 

  • Lead interview strategy discussions and manage the interview development and production process. 

  • Attend client pre-proposal and debrief meetings, sharing lessons learned and best practices across teams. 

  • Mentor and engage Proposal Coordinators and Proposal Specialists during proposal development 

  • Collaborate with Capture Managers and Key Client Account Managers to manage the development of priority pursuits. 

  • Engage in project-specific capture planning for small- and medium-sized pursuits.  

 

Competencies and Requirements 

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in English, Business, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related major. 

  • Minimum seven years of experience leading the proposal process from prepositioning phases through interview and driving teams to develop complaint and competitive bids for an engineering, construction or professional services organization 

  • U.S. Navy and other U.S. Federal Agency experience. 

  • Experience with A/E Proposals with Standard Forms (SF330) and Selection of Architects and Engineers statute (formerly Brooks Act) requirements. 

  • Understanding of the Federal Procurement process and the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).  

  • Expert in Microsoft Suite, Adobe PDF, Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign) and Photoshop. 

  • Proven ability to manage and work effectively with technical leaders in any market and service line. 

  • Proven leadership and strategy development skills. 

  • Proven skills to strategize and develop strong marketing, pursuit, and proposal win themes and differentiators. 

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral. 

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize, and adapt to changing priorities and assignments. 

  • Flexibility and ability to meet challenging deadlines. 

  • Ability to maintain an even temper in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Participation in industry organizations such as APMP, SMPS, AMA, and SAME.
