The Sales Analyst will support the Walmart business through sales analysis, forecasting, inventory planning, replenishment, account management, and reporting. This role will work closely with the Sales and Planning teams to analyze business performance, identify trends and opportunities, and help ensure strong in-stock levels and effective inventory management.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to analyze and interpret large data sets to identify trends and support business decisions. This position will partner cross-functionally with Sales, Production, Logistics, Design, and other internal teams to support the successful execution and growth of the Walmart business.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze weekly sales, POS, inventory, and performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
  • Create, update, and distribute weekly sales reporting, including performance versus plan, budget, and prior periods.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly business recaps and provide insights into sales and inventory performance.
  • Conduct detailed selling analysis by item, category, size, and color to identify opportunities and support business decisions.
  • Monitor key business metrics and highlight significant changes in sales trends, inventory position, and product performance.
  • Support analysis related to markdowns, promotions, re-buys, and other inventory actions.
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting and analysis to support Sales and Planning leadership.

Planning & Forecasting

  • Support the development and maintenance of weekly, monthly, and seasonal sales forecasts.
  • Assist with ladder plans, including pre-season projections and in-season re-projections.
  • Monitor actual performance against forecasts, plans, and budgets and identify meaningful variances.
  • Support seasonal and annual budget planning.
  • Analyze historical selling trends to support future sales and inventory projections.
  • Assist with markdown analysis and recommendations based on sales and inventory performance.
  • Support detailed size and color selling analysis to identify trends and inventory needs.
  • Assist with seasonal line planning and SKU rationalization.

Inventory & Replenishment

  • Monitor inventory levels, replenishment performance, and product flow to support appropriate in-stock levels.
  • Assist with forecasting and order analysis to identify inventory needs and potential risks.
  • Support GRS replenishment, production planning, and in-stock management.
  • Analyze inventory positions to identify potential out-of-stocks, overstocks, and other inventory concerns.
  • Monitor inventory turns, fill rates, and other key replenishment metrics.
  • Support item setup and maintenance of replenishment parameters within Walmart systems.
  • Partner with Planning, Production, and Logistics teams to help align inventory requirements with production and shipment plans.

Account Management & Communication

  • Support ongoing communication with Walmart Merchant, Planning, Replenishment, and eCommerce teams.
  • Assist with the preparation and communication of weekly business updates, sales recaps, reporting, and supporting materials.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for day-to-day Walmart requests related to sales, inventory, planning, and replenishment.
  • Partner with internal Sales and Planning teams to ensure timely follow-up and resolution of Walmart requests and business needs.
  • Help facilitate the item creation process between internal item creation teams and Walmart.
  • Maintain accurate item and business information within Walmart systems and internal reporting tools.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Sales, Production, Logistics, and other internal teams to support Walmart account needs and execution.

Supply Chain & Order Analysis

  • Monitor purchase orders, inventory flow, and shipment performance in partnership with Production and Logistics.
  • Assist with tracking OTIF (On Time In Full), fill rates, and inventory turn performance.
  • Identify potential inventory or shipment issues and communicate concerns to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Support analysis of order quantities against forecasts, inventory positions, and sales trends.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate information across Walmart and internal systems.

Systems & Data Management

  • Utilize Walmart Retail Link, NOVA, AEX, Scintilla, Supplier One, Decision Support, SQEP, and other applicable Walmart systems to retrieve and analyze business information.
  • Maintain accurate sales, inventory, forecasting, and replenishment data.
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based reports, trackers, and analytical tools.
  • Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and consistent across the Walmart business.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline recurring reporting and analytical processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Merchandising, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 3 – 4+ years of experience in sales analysis, planning, replenishment, merchandising, or a related analytical role; Walmart experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with Walmart Retail Link and related Walmart systems highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, inventory, and replenishment data and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience analyzing large data sets.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Experience within fashion apparel, retail, or consumer products preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and collaborative, with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions.
