Job Description Summary

We are seeking a high-calibre, experienced and established Engineering Leader to drive the technical excellence of our state-of-the-art Haiphong Transformer facility in Vietnam. This is not just a management role; it is a technical leadership position. You will be responsible for the full engineering lifecycle of world-class power transformers, ensuring our designs push the boundaries of performance while mentoring and developing the next generation of engineers.

Job Description

What You Will Do:
• Technical Authority: Act as the primary technical point of contact for complex HVAC (up to 765kV) and HVDC transformer projects VSC & LCC (up to +/-800kV). Oversee design quality, integrity, FEA validation, and compliance with IEC60076 standards.
• Engineering Excellence: Elevate the team’s output by institutionalizing rigorous design reviews, "Design for Manufacturing" (DFM) principles, and advanced modelling workflows.
• Operational Transformation: Drive a Lean engineering culture. You will be expected to identify bottlenecks in the design-to-delivery value stream and implement scalable solutions to slash cycle times without compromising quality.
• Strategic Team Building: Cultivate a high-performance engineering organization. You will define the technical career paths, succession plans, and mentoring programs that make our Haiphong site the premier destination for transformer talent.

What You Bring:
• Deep Domain Expertise: Significant experience in the design of large power transformers. Electrical bias is preferred. You are comfortable troubleshooting high-voltage design challenges and understand the physics behind complex failures.
• Digital Proficiency: Advanced user of design tools such as FEA modelling and simulations, 3D modelling. You know how to leverage these tools to automate, optimise and standardize design processes.
• Strategic Leadership: Proven success in leading cross-functional teams. You don't just "manage" progress; you lead through technical influence, clear decision-making, and transparency.
• A "Quality First" Mindset: A track record of delivering complex engineering programs on time and on budget. You have a "zero-defect" mentality when it comes to customer-facing engineering documentation.
