Job Overview

Dr. Kristia Wantchekon, of the Context, Development, and Social (CDSP) Policy lab at Georgetown University, is seeking a Research Associate to gain valuable research experience in adolescent and young adult identity development and psychosocial adjustment. The research associate will play an integral role in the project management, data analysis, and data dissemination of several ongoing research projects. The Research Associate will also play a key role in the development of future lab projects.

Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Project meeting organization and record keeping

  • Data management and cleaning

  • Data analysis and coding

  • Data dissemination via conference presentations and manuscripts

  • Research partner identification and recruitment

  • IRB support

  • Data collection

Work Interactions

The Research Associate will play a vital role within Dr. Wantchekon’s lab and research team. The Research Associate will work directly under Dr. Wantchekon and will also collaborate with her and her graduate students. Together, they will effectively advance the lab’s ongoing projects and projects in development. There will also be opportunities for mentorship with the CDSP lab’s other PIss, as well as within the broader Georgetown Psychology department research community.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Required qualifications

  • B.A./B.S. in Psychology or a related field.

  • 2 or more years of high-level research experience (e.g., experience with 3+ of the duties highlighted above)

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with qualitative data collection and analysis

  • Statistics training in SPSS, Stata, or R

  • Prior coursework in identity developmental processes

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$20.16 - $31.30

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
