JOB SUMMARY 

The Ultrasound Sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment and for performing and communicating the results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. The Sonographer is also responsible for the daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA). 

The Sonographer must work two Saturdays per month and must be willing and able to travel efficiently to the Manhattan location and to and from the Westchester satellite location in Hartsdale. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assists the physicians in the execution of optimum quality ultrasound exams as per the AIUM protocols in a timely, efficient manner while obtaining images that support the diagnosis documented by the interpreting Physicians. 
  • Obtains essential information from patients, medical records, and previous exams for clinical correlation. 
  • Performs ultrasound scans and provides direct patient care as needed after proper confirmation of study and patient identification. 
  • Performs blood draws in accordance with established protocols (patient identification, tube selection, labeling, etc.). 
  • Effectively communicates differentials to interpreting physicians. 
  • Generates accurate computerized reports for the Physician to review. 
  • Upon completion of the ultrasound exam, verifies proper ultrasound documentation in e-IVF. 
  • Ensures that each assigned room is adequately stocked and prepared for smooth daily patient flow. 
  • Assists with all aspects of sterile ultrasound-guided procedures as directed by the Physicians. 
  • Prepares the necessary supplies and paperwork to support the Physician for sterile procedures. 
  • Observes and follows safety procedures, including universal precautions. 
  • Maintains proper HIPAA compliance while maintaining familiarity with any changes regarding technology and the safety of self, patients, and visitors. 
  • Operates the equipment to acquire various imaging results and reports deficiencies to the proper personnel to rectify any concerns. 
  • Provides compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.  
  • Collaborates effectively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, phlebotomists, and care coordinators to ensure efficient patient flow.  
  • Assists with patient education by explaining ultrasound procedures and answering basic questions within scope.  
  • Assists with onboarding and training of new sonographers when requested. 

SCHEDULE 

  • Full-Time 
  • Two Saturdays a month. 
  • Must be willing and able to travel efficiently to the flagship location in Manhattan. 
  • Must be willing and able to travel efficiently to the Westchester satellite location in Hartsdale, NY 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Associate’s degree required. 
  • ARDMS (or equivalent) certificate required. 
  • Minimum one year of OB/GYN sonography experience. 
  • Fertility experience preferred.

$46$49 USD
