About the Role: 

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our team.

Shift: M-F, 7AM-4PM (Job Type: Full-Time) | Location: Tuscaloosa, AL

Responsibilities:

  • Operate vehicle in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements, as well as all local, state and federal laws
  • Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections and document utilizing the standard DVR
  • Deliver quality customer service and interaction at the utmost professional level
  • Record and maintain daily customer delivery tickets
  • Communicate customer requests and/or service interruptions to Operations staff

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • At least three (3) years of experience driving commercial routes, preferably in the recycling or waste management industry.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical and 7-year background check, which will include previous employment check, criminal history and motor vehicle review
  • Must be able to verify and maintain accurate daily records
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Be able to lift up to 65 lbs. and push/pull 200 lb. recycling containers

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: 

Normal work environment is outdoors, with exposure to all weather conditions, dirt, high levels of noise, smells/odors and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions, including PPE.

The physical demands described here are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

  • The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear.
  • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
