General Reinsurance, Cape Town Branch (a subsidary of General Reinsurance AG) is offering an opportunity for Senior Life Underwriter in our Life Australia, UK, SA, Canada division.
Key Responsibilities This is a challenging and rewarding role which includes a broad range of tasks, including:

Qualifications & Experience
We are looking
for top applicants who are seasoned underwriters, with a qualification in
health or allied health sciences, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Applicants should also have significant experience in resolving complex and
unique underwriting queries.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years’ underwriting experience
- South African product knowledge - Life, disability, and critical illness insurance
- Previous education and training experience within the life insurance industry
- Ability to provide underwriting assessments on a range of life insurance products
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills utilized for decision-making
- Strong attention to detail
- Capacity to work effectively in a team environment
- High degree of energy and creativity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Client interaction and Stakeholder Engagement Experience
- An affinity for technology and innovation, with strong software skills
