The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Technician is responsible for supporting workplace safety, environmental compliance, and risk reduction. Core duties include conducting facility inspections, managing waste, safety equipment, and working with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks.

How You'll Create Possibilities

  • Complete regulatory and internally required EHS inspections and audits (i.e. eyewash/shower, emergency lighting, first-aid kits, pre-use inspection forms, etc.).

  • Manage the Appliance Park Technology hazardous waste program (e.g. inspections, labeling, coordinate shipping, etc.)

  • Manage the inventory and distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE) for Technology Labs.

  • Conduct 5S assessments, lead 5S events, provide 5S related training and coaching.

  • Review contractor safe work plans and conduct periodic audits of contractors while they are working onsite.

  • Conduct/coordinate employee EHS training in accordance with training plan to meet regulatory and internal program requirements.

  • Create and maintain EHS related documents including but not limited to: Lockout/Tagout procedures, job safety analysis, risk assessments, written programs and training material.

  • Assist in site incident investigations (e.g., injuries, fires, spills) to ensure causal factors are identified, prevention steps are taken and validated, and lessons learned are shared and leveraged in a timely manner.

  • Support Emergency Response Drills and participate as an Area Warden for Evacuation/ Shelter-in-place events.

  • Support the Technology Chemical Hygiene Officer in managing the Chemical Hygiene Plan for chemical laboratory operations.

  • Lead EHS related projects in line with Technology operational plan, risk reduction plan, and business objectives.

  • Respond to questions and/or concerns received from internal and external stakeholders. Develop plans to mitigate identified risks. Work with safety reps and maintenance to ensure timely and accurate responses (e.g. create and track EHS Work orders and ATS findings to closure)

  • Work with stakeholders (e.g. project leaders) to review new equipment, process changes, laboratory expansions, etc. to ensure regulatory and internal EHS requirements are met and potential risk is minimized.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work independently, and in a team setting

  • Lead work with minimal supervision, exercising sound judgment to set priorities, resolve issues, and drive results aligned with business objectives.

  • Proven capability to manage multiple priorities through strong time management, organizational discipline, and attention to detail, ensuring commitments are met in a dynamic, schedule-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA-10/OSHA-30hr Certification

  • Experience with OSHA/EPA regulatory requirements

  • Experience with Benchmark Gensuite EHS Management System

  • Previous experience conducting EHS audits/inspections

  • Previous experience with chemical and hazardous waste management

Working Conditions:

  • Working conditions are normal for lab, manufacturing, and office environments.

  • Must be able to occasionally lift and carry parts up to 50lbs

  • May require occasional weekend or evening work

  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to all buildings at Appliance Park
