Job Description Summary

The PDE Designer role will review definition of parts and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance, stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, and inspection. This role will also determine dimensional constraints and geometric tolerances required for proper clearances and fits while maximizing manufacturing capabilities and will execute projects.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Remain current with state of the art technical specialties for new product introduction activity, performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolution.
  • Support other GE businesses, supplier and internal/external customers.
  • Serve as a recognized leader in defining the state of the art in own technical specialty in order to anticipate, develop and apply technology to current and future business opportunities.
  • Provide engineering design support within one's specialty, to teams working on performance, cost and quality initiatives.
  • Lead projects, programs and assignments while accomplishing cost, quality and schedules goals.
  • Leverage expertise to resolve problems in the field or during the manufacturing processes.
  • Protect the intellectual Property rights of the Company.
  • Function as program manager when appropriate.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineering designers.
  • Develop and implement training modules as necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience working in technical specialty).
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The pay for this position starts at 33.60 per hour. This posting is expected to close on August 13th.
