Job Responsibilities

Apply practical knowledge of electric/electronic theory to:

  • Locate reasons for malfunction.
  • Effectively repair root causes in all types of electric/electronically controlled manufacturing equipment (e.g., machine tools, integrated manufacturing quality control equipment, balance machines, welders, lasers).
  • Work on new equipment after technical information is complete and procedures/maintenance norms are established.

Test and replace faulty components such as:

  • Vacuum tubes, solid-state devices, relay logic components, motivators, feedback devices, transducers.

Use various test and measuring devices, including:

  • Tube testers, VOMs, VTVMs, digital meters, recorders, oscilloscopes.

After repairs, you will:

  • Functionally test equipment (with operator assistance if required).
  • Perform initial “check-out” to ensure proper operation.

Perform all repairs, including:

  • Planned maintenance.
  • Rebuilding components and assemblies.
  • Layout of electric panels.
  • Makeup of electrical/electronic circuits for equipment testing purposes.
  • Technology controls.
  • Touch-up of painted surfaces disturbed during repair.

You will also maintain records and perform related duties as required.

Minimum Experience

  • 2 years diagnosing issues and performing complex repair work on electric and electronically controlled machine tools/manufacturing equipment.
  • Must pass a written assessment.

This role may encounter high-risk or hazardous operations and/or involve shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, candidates must be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
