Position Summary
The Student Recording Engineer & Mixer provides recording, editing, and mixing support for Commercial Music student projects, Friday Night Live (FNL) productions, and other events.
Responsibilities
- Record, edit, and mix music projects for Commercial Music students.
- Operate recording studio equipment during production projects.
- Prepare recording sessions including microphone setup, signal routing, and session organization
. • Mix live audio for Friday Night Live (FNL) broadcasts and other live productions
. • Maintain studio equipment and assist with troubleshooting technical issues.
- Archive and organize recording sessions and project files.
- Support faculty with recording sessions, showcases, and special events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Pro Tools recording and editing.
- Experience mixing live sound.
- Knowledge of professional recording studio workflows.
- Experience operating digital audio consoles.
- Understanding of microphones, signal flow, and studio acoustics.
- Strong critical listening skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production environment.

- Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
- Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
- Maintain good financial standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
