International Internship Czech Republic 2027- INTERNSHIP IN ELECTRIC DRIVES FOR HVAC COMPRESSORS

This internship gives the opportunity to perform studies in a number of different areas according to the interest of the intern, including:

• Studies of how SiC or GaN can benefit the design of electric drives for compressors, in both the hardware and the control

• Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Output filter modeling considering motor performance parameters, cable size and wide bandgap device.

• Trade off study of VFD Harmonic mitigation filters

• Power supply and pre-charging circuit design

• Thermal simulation of electric drive taking into account various different cooling media

These projects would suit someone with an interest in power electronics, electric drives, control of electric drives, of thermal simulation

DESIRABLE BACKGROUND

• Student in last year (of Masters) of electrical or mechatronic engineering 
• Hands of experience in building electric drives, control system or thermal modelling
• Experience with Office Suite
• Good communication skills in both written and spoken English (At least technical English level)
• Duration: minimum 6 months
