About this role
Overview
Lead Application Developer is responsible for the:
- Design, development, implementation, and maintenance of custom applications on the .NET platform
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers across the full development lifecycle
- Architect and oversee development of enterprise-grade applications using .NET Core, Angular, and Azure services
- Researching emerging technologies, conducting proof-of-concepts, and making recommendations
- Collaborating with team members and project owners to develop the required custom applications.
- The candidate must have a firm understanding of the importance of information security and ensure that Gallagher’s data is protected in accordance with IT Policy and organizational priorities.
How you'll make an impact
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test custom applications on the .NET Core and .NET Framework
- Code and test application integrations.
- Work collaboratively with team members and project owners to execute development plans effectively
- Troubleshoot issues and develop solutions
- Create proper documentation of designs and code
- Comply with AJG IT Policies and Procedures and Professional Standards
- Apply knowledge of best practices, current and emerging development trends and techniques to application development.
About you
Qualifications:
- University Degree and minimum 8-12 years prior relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
- 8+ years on the .NET Framework
- 8+ years on the .Net Core
- 8+ years of C# programming experience
- Strong experience in ASP.NET MVC development
- Strong experience in full stack development (frontend and backend)
- Strong experience in front end frameworks (Angular, ReactJS)
- Strong experiencing JavaScript/Frameworks (jQuery), CSS3/Bootstrap, HTML/HTML5
- Strong experience with SQL Server development (stored procedures, functions, in memory objects, query optimization)
- Experience with WCF, Web API, and Console Apps
- Experience in Azure Cloud Services (Azure SQL, App Services, ADFS, etc.) and cloud-based application development
- Knowledge of application architecture and design patterns
- Experienced in the SDLC (processes and best practices)
- Strong experience with software development principles and best practices (good coding skills)
- Good understanding of the application security (SDL and OWASP security principles)
- Experience with techniques to quickly and effectively troubleshoot and resolve application issues
- Insurance industry experience is a plus
- Full-Stack Development: Extensive experience in both frontend and backend development.
- .NET Development: Over 8 years of experience working with.NET Core, including C# programming expertise.
- Frontend Technologies: Proficient in Angular (priority), ReactJS, JavaScript (including frameworks like jQuery), CSS3/Bootstrap, and HTML/HTML5.
- SQL Server Development: Strong expertise in stored procedures, functions, and query optimization.
- Service Development: Experience with .Net API development.
- Azure Cloud Services: Azure-based application development with hands-on experience with Azure services like App Services, Function App, Logic Apps, Azure SQL, and ADFS.
- Application Architecture: Knowledge of design patterns and application architecture principles.
- Agile Methodologies: Experienced in Agile ceremonies and best practices.
- Coding Standards: Strong adherence to software development principles and best practices, ensuring clean and efficient code.
- Application Security: Good understanding of SDL and OWASP security principles.
- Troubleshooting: Skilled in quickly diagnosing and resolving application issues effectively.
- Domain Knowledge: Experience in the finance/insurance/benefits domains would be a plus.
