Overview

 

Keenan is seeking a dynamic Senior Account Executive to serve as a trusted advisor to clients and drive long-term account success. In this role, you will lead client relationships, oversee benefit strategy and renewals, identify growth opportunities, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional service and results. Keenan, now a part of Gallagher, is an insurance brokerage and consulting firm meeting the insurance needs of hospitals, public entities and California school districts. Keenan specializes in providing consulting services in the areas of: employee benefits, workers' compensation, loss control, financial, and property & liability.

How you'll make an impact

 

  • Manage and retain a book of employee benefits business within an assigned territory.
  • Develop trusted client relationships through regular communication, strategic consulting, and exceptional service.
  • Analyze client benefit programs and recommend solutions that address evolving business needs and objectives.
  • Lead annual renewal processes, including carrier negotiations, marketing activities, and benefit strategy recommendations.
  • Present benefit solutions, renewal recommendations, and educational materials to clients and stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for benefit program administration, policy changes, enrollment, billing, claims, and eligibility issues.
  • Coordinate open enrollment meetings, employee education sessions, and benefit implementations.
  • Stay current on legislative and industry developments and advise clients on potential impacts.
  • Partner with internal service teams and carrier representatives to ensure timely, accurate client support.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and introduce additional products and services.
  • Maintain accurate client records, reporting, and CRM documentation.
  • Support special projects, team initiatives, and mentoring opportunities as needed.

 


About You

Required: 

 

  • A minimum of five (5) years group insurance experience, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance programs. 
  • Must be a self-starter who is detail oriented and has excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to build relationships with prospects, clients and Senior Management.
  • Possess negotiating skills and mathematical ability. 
  • General knowledge of management and decision making of California Public Agencies (i.e., insurance committees, bargaining units, etc.). 
  • Basic underwriting skills and understanding of funding methodologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. 

  • Adept at accessing business data from the Internet when required.
