The Junior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for creating mechanical deliverables such as calculations, drawings, and reports for shipbuilding projects. They must ensure all designs comply with vessel specifications, flag requirements, and classification society standards while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and have at least 2 years of experience in marine design for new shipbuilding projects. Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and familiarity with classification society rules like DNV/BV and IMO HSC Code are essential.
The Junior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for undertaking Mechanical engineering deliverables (calculations, drawings, requisitions, reports, investigations, and trials) for the assigned project/tasks.
The role is to ensure that the mechanical deliverables meet the vessel specification, flag requirement (e.g. IMO High-Speed Craft Code/other), and the Classification Society requirements and are fit for their intended purpose. The deliverable needs to be undertaken as per the project schedule and budget requirements.
This role requires good coordination and communication (written and verbal) with the design team (AP and AA/AV where applicable), production, and other external stakeholders (class/client/Supplier).
