Join Downer's Telecommunications team and be instrumental in designing the networks that support Australia's mobile connectivity. You'll play a significant role in major wireless infrastructure projects, working on Fibre and Microwave Transmission solutions to help deliver the next generation of 4G and 5G networks. This is an opportunity to become part of a high-performing national team, with the flexibility to be based in Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane.

THE ROLE 

As an MTX Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design and delivery of Fibre and Microwave transmission solutions supporting mobile telecommunications infrastructure projects.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Designing Fibre and Microwave transmission solutions for new and existing mobile network sites. 

• Completing feasibility assessments, site investigations and technical design documentation. 

• Supporting construction and field teams with technical advice and commissioning activities. 

• Delivering designs in accordance with client standards, project schedules and quality requirements. 

• Collaborating with project managers, engineers, vendors and clients to ensure successful project delivery.

ABOUT YOU

You are a technically strong telecommunications professional who enjoys solving complex problems and delivering high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced project environment.

• 3+ years' Australian experience in Fibre and Microwave Transmission Design. 
• Strong understanding of Telstra MTX design processes, systems and standards. 
• Experience using tools such as Pathloss, Mentum Ellipse, Nearmap, MapInfo or similar. 
• Knowledge of LTE, 5G and telecommunications transport networks. 
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
