Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC and/or conventional machining equipment (e.g., Milling, Turning, Grinding) according to work instructions.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Select and install the appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine settings.
- Perform first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Monitor machining operations to ensure product quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Perform minor machine adjustments and routine preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and report equipment abnormalities to the supervisor.
- Ensure production targets and delivery schedules are achieved while minimizing scrap and downtime.
- Maintain proper documentation, including production records and inspection reports.
- Comply with company safety policies, 5S practices, and quality management system requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
- Minimum SPM, Certificate, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Precision Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 1–3 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment. Fresh graduates with relevant technical training are encouraged to apply.
- Knowledge of CNC machining, milling, turning, or conventional machining processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T is an added advantage.
- Familiar with precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and height gauges.
- Basic understanding of cutting tools, tooling selection, feeds, and speeds.
- Knowledge of quality standards and inspection procedures.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willing to work on shifts and overtime when required.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward continuous learning.
