Das Fraunhofer-Institut für Bauphysik IBP arbeitet anwendungsbezogen auf allen aktuellen Gebieten der Bauphysik und befasst sich mit Forschung, Entwicklung, Prüfung, Demonstration und Beratung auf den Gebieten Akustik, Energieeffizienz und Raumklima, Ganzheitliche Bilanzierung, Hygrothermik sowie Bauchemie, Baubiologie und Hygiene.
Die Abteilung Akustik forscht in den Bereichen Bauakustik, Raumakustik, Technischer Schallschutz, Fahrzeugakustik sowie Psychoakustik und kognitive Ergonomie.
