Are you ready to take the next big step in your culinary career? Four Seasons Hotel Toronto is currently looking for a talented and dynamic Café Boulud Junior Sous Chef who shares our passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do!

About the role:

The Junior Sous Chef supports the daily operations of the Café Boulud kitchen, assisting with food preparation and service while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and sanitation. Working closely with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef, this role helps lead and develop team members, supports inventory and food cost controls, ensures proper food handling practices, and contributes to the delivery of an exceptional guest experience.

What you will do:

  • Assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, consistency, and sanitation.
  • Support food preparation and service execution while maintaining efficient workflow and timing during service periods.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and controlling food costs and waste.
  • Train, coach, and supervise culinary team members to promote productivity, teamwork, and professional development.
  • Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards are consistently met.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs on menu development, seasonal offerings, and special events.
  • Maintain and oversee the proper use, cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen equipment and work areas.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers, supervisors, and suppliers to support Café Boulud's commitment to exceptional dining experiences.

What you will bring:

  • Strong culinary creativity and a thorough understanding of current and emerging culinary trends in the hospitality industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced, fine dining kitchen environment, ideally specializing in French cuisine.
  • 1+ years of kitchen leadership or management experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a demanding environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience working in a Michelin-recognized restaurant is an asset.
  • Proven ability to identify, develop, and inspire talent within a culinary team.
  • Strong communication skills in English; additional languages are an asset.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

The salary range for this role is $68,000 to $73,000.

Schedule & Hours:

This position requires an applicant with an open schedule and the ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
