Weekend Concierge / Receptionist – The Piper Living
Kansas City, KS | Part-Time | Saturdays & Sundays, 9:00am–3:30pm | $15.00/hr

The Piper Living is looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Weekend Concierge/Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our residents, families, and visitors. If you love creating a warm, organized front desk experience and take pride in supporting a team behind the scenes, this could be the perfect fit for you.

Schedule:

  • Part-Time | Saturdays & Sundays, 9:00am–3:30pm
  • Ability to help cover during the week, if needed

What You'll Do:

  • Manage, organize, and maintain resident medical records with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Support front desk operations by greeting residents, families, and visitors
  • Answer and direct phone calls professionally and efficiently
  • Ensure all visitors sign in/out and follow community procedures
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and always protect confidential information
  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail
  • Input transportation requests and maintain scheduling logs
  • Receive payments and issue receipts when needed
  • Perform general office tasks (copying, scanning, filing, faxing)
  • Assist with ordering and stocking office supplies
  • Support resident activities and assist other team members as needed
  • Respond to emergency situations calmly and effectively
  • Uphold resident rights and report concerns promptly

What You Bring:

  • Computer proficiency — especially Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Willingness and ability to learn Point Click Care and Yardi
  • Clear, professional communication skills
  • Strong customer service and people skills
  • Dependability, organization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow procedures
  • A friendly, patient, and tactful demeanor
  • Experience in healthcare, hospitality, or administrative settings preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, and perform general office duties
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

The Receptionist performs receptionist and diverse business office duties that are technical and detailed. In performing these duties, the Receptionist is the first point of contact for anyone coming to the Community.

Areas of Responsibility

  • First point of contact via telephone and walk-in traffic with prospects, residents, family, associates, and vendors.
  • Greet all guests, visitors, residents, and vendors in a positive, friendly manner while ensuring a welcoming Community atmosphere is established.
  • Answer the telephone, take messages, greet, and direct visitors and vendors to the appropriate party.
  • Responsible for the daily retrieving, preparing, and distributing of both incoming and outgoing mail, courier services, and packages.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident, associate, Community and Company information deemed as such.  
  • Receive resident requests for maintenance in their apartments using the Company Work Order system.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience as receptionist in a professional business environment.  
  • Must have working knowledge of appropriate Microsoft Office programs. 
  • Must have working knowledge of office equipment such as copy machine, calculator, and multi-line telephone system.  
  • Must have positive Criminal Background Screening. 
  • The Community is a drug free workplace; associates are subject to adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.

  • Pay attention to detail, be organized, and be able to multi-task.
  • Must have demonstrated teamwork skills.
