Position Overview
The Senior Manager, Product Marketing & Promotions serves as a strategic marketing partner to Sales, vendor partners, and FBM branch leadership. This role owns the strategy, prioritization, and governance of product marketing and promotional programs designed to support revenue growth, customer acquisition, repeat purchases, digital adoption, and consistent brand execution across the branch network. The Senior Manager translates commercial priorities, product strategies, customer insights, and vendor opportunities into integrated marketing programs and sales enablement solutions.
Working under general direction, the Senior Manager independently evaluates business opportunities, establishes promotional priorities, recommends campaign approaches and resource allocation, and makes decisions on matters of significance within the scope of assigned programs. The role partners closely with Creative, Digital Marketing, Social Media, Project Management, Sales and external vendors to guide execution of the annual promotional calendar, trade shows, branch openings, customer appreciation events, localized campaigns, product education, and customer-facing sales tools.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Key Responsibilities Product Marketing & Promotional Strategy- Own the enterprise product marketing and promotional strategy for assigned categories, customer segments, and commercial priorities, aligning programs with defined objectives and overall business goals.
- Develop and manage the annual and monthly promotional calendar, including monthly tool promotions, seasonal campaigns, product launches, and other revenue-driving initiatives.
- Independently assess customer, product, branch, market, and vendor inputs to determine promotional concepts, target audiences, offers, channels, timing, and success measures.
- Provide strategic recommendations to Marketing and Sales leadership regarding campaign priorities, promotional investments, customer engagement opportunities, and program adjustments based on performance and business impact.
- Balance enterprise consistency with local market needs by establishing standards and decision criteria for branch-level promotions and localized marketing programs.
- Own the marketing relationship and planning process with key vendor partners, including development and administration of vendor co-op marketing programs and joint promotional opportunities.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and determine how partner investments should be deployed to support strategic categories, customer growth, product education, and measurable commercial outcomes.
- Lead vendor webcast strategy and programming, including topic selection, audience approach, content requirements, promotion, and post-event evaluation.
- Define sales enablement needs and lead development of promotional flyers, sales presentations, product guides, product education materials, case studies, customer success stories, and other customer-facing collateral.
- Translate product features, vendor value propositions, customer needs, and commercial priorities into clear positioning, messaging, proof points, and calls to action that Sales teams can use effectively.
- Partner with Sales leadership to identify field adoption barriers and determine the tools, content, training, or campaign support needed to improve seller effectiveness.
- Ensure customer-facing materials are accurate, strategically aligned, brand consistent, and appropriate for the intended audience and channel before release.
- Provide strategic oversight for branch marketing initiatives, localized promotional campaigns, and in-branch customer engagement programs.
- Manage and maintain scalable playbooks, standards, and recommended practices for branch openings, customer appreciation events, product displays, point-of-sale materials, and local promotional activations.
- Consult with branch and regional leadership to evaluate local marketing requests, prioritize opportunities, and determine solutions that balance market needs, brand standards, available resources, and expected business value.
- Use branch feedback and performance results to refine promotional approaches and identify opportunities that can be scaled across the network.
- Lead marketing strategy and brand representation for trade shows, industry events and other customer-facing activations.
- Determine event objectives, audience strategy, booth requirements, key messages, product focus, sales enablement needs, and measurement approach in partnership with Sales, Creative, and vendors.
- Oversee trade show booth concepts and related brand experiences to ensure consistent, professional, customer-focused execution.
- Evaluate event effectiveness and recommend changes to future investments, formats, messaging, or participation based on customer engagement and business outcomes.
- Serve as the primary bridge among Sales, vendor partners, and Marketing for product marketing and promotional initiatives.
- Lead campaign briefs and cross-functional planning with Creative, Digital Marketing, Social Media, Project Management, and other stakeholders, establishing objectives, deliverables, decision rights, timelines, and success criteria.
- Exercise independent judgment to resolve competing priorities, make tradeoffs, escalate material risks, and keep complex initiatives aligned with business objectives.
- Guide the work of internal partners, agencies, vendors, or project resources as appropriate; review outputs and provide direction to ensure quality, consistency, and strategic alignment.
- Communicate program strategy, performance, risks, and recommendations to senior stakeholders in a concise, decision-oriented manner.
- Define key performance indicators and measurement plans for promotional programs, including revenue contribution, customer acquisition, repeat purchase behavior, digital adoption, engagement, vendor funding utilization, and field adoption where data is available.
- Analyze campaign and promotional performance, identify trends and root causes, and independently recommend changes to targeting, messaging, timing, channel mix, offers, or investment levels.
- Maintain an enterprise view of the promotional portfolio to identify overlap, gaps, resource constraints, and opportunities to improve effectiveness, scalability, and return on marketing investment.
- Develop repeatable processes, templates, governance standards, and planning tools that improve speed, quality, consistency, and accountability across product marketing and promotional work.
- Lead special projects and perform other duties assigned by management that are consistent with the level and scope of the position.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in product marketing, trade/channel marketing, sales enablement, promotions, or a closely related discipline, including experience leading complex, cross-functional marketing programs.
- Demonstrated experience developing promotional calendars, seasonal campaigns, customer-facing collateral, sales tools, product education, and event or trade show programs.
- Experience partnering with Sales leaders and with external manufacturers, suppliers, or vendor partners; experience with co-op marketing programs strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently assess business needs, establish priorities, evaluate alternatives, make recommendations, and exercise discretion and independent judgment on matters with meaningful commercial or brand impact.
- Strong understanding of integrated marketing principles and the ability to coordinate effectively across creative, digital, social media, project management, field, and commercial teams.
- Ability to translate product and commercial strategy into clear positioning, messaging, promotional concepts, and practical sales enablement tools.
- Strong analytical and business acumen, including the ability to evaluate campaign performance, use data to identify opportunities, and communicate actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to influence leaders and partners without relying on formal authority.
- Strong organizational judgment and project leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives, deadlines, vendors, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with marketing project management, digital marketing, CRM, analytics, or content management platforms is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
Reports ToVice President, Marketing CompensationThe listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on experience, qualifications, and work location within state. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
- Base: $110,000 - $135,000 per year
- Bonus: 20% Target Bonus
- Total Compensation (Base + Bonus): The successful candidate could reasonably expect a Total Compensation Package in the range of $120,000 - $175,000.
- Equity: This role is not eligible to participate in the Lowe’s Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program.
