Overall responsibilities and duties:

Within your area of expertise, you develop, industrialize and optimize manufacturing processes (equipment & tools: welding, assembly, control) to ensure performance, quality and competitiveness of production systems. The process specialist oversees equipment and tools from concept definition to start of production for plants and suppliers across Europe.

Purpose and Main Responsibilities

Process Development

  • Analyze and validate product/process feasibility
  • Define manufacturing concepts (assembly, welding, forming) for machine and tools/jigs.
  • Contribute to design-to-cost approach and compliance with standards

Industrialization

  • Define equipment specifications and launch/lead RFQs
  • Manage suppliers from design phase up to final validation (worldwide) including all validation steps (functional, efficiency, HSE, ergonomics, process rules, …).
  • Define and ensure compliance with program targets (cost, quality, cycle time, …) and manage action plan to reach them with external and internal resources.

Production Launch

  • Lead equipment installation and commissioning in plant (Europe) until full process validation
  • Train plant teams and support start of production
  • Contribute to achieving run@rate targets

Continuous Improvement

  • Optimize process performance (cycle time, OEE, cost, …).
  • Capitalize and deploy best practices

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Minimum education level: Master’s degree in engineering/economics/management.

Skills and competencies 

    • Experience in manufacturing/Process engineering (automotive preferred)
    • Mechanical and automation knowledge
    • Experience with design tools CATIA or SolidWorks (viewer)
    • Able to learn on the fly and work in shopfloor environments
    • Able to communicate effectively in English in a multicultural environment
    • Ready to travel across Europe as required by projects (approximately 30% to 50% of the time)
