Clinical Research Physician, Madison, WI Phase I Onsite

Role Highlights:
Support healthy volunteers by providing onsite medical coverage and oversight
Excellent work/life balance
M-F schedule 7:30am – 3:30pm schedule variable based on enrollment periods
Call Rotation 1:4 (every fourth weekend – from home / come in as needed)
Communicate across clinical teams, regulatory bodies & trial participants
Support study protocols, IRB/IEC meetings, and client visits
Conduct pre-, on-, and post-study exams
May serve as Sub- or Principal Investigator
Key Responsibilities (Include but not limited to):
Utilizes various technology platforms, databases, and electronic systems to support medical monitoring, data review, clinical trial execution, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Conducts final review and approval of Case Report Forms (CRFs) to ensure data accuracy, protocol adherence, and regulatory compliance at study closeout.
Approximately 10–20% of the role may involve administrative and operational activities.
Provides medical training and guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure high standards of clinical practice.
Undertake any other duties as required
Required Qualifications:
MD or DO with an active WI medical license and DEA
CPR/ACLS certified
2+ years clinical experience (Family Medicine or Primary Care preferred)
Clinical trials experience is a plus
Passion for research, safety, and patient-centered care
Demonstrated computer proficiency and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, e-signatures and Teams.
Strong technical aptitude and ability to effectively utilize clinical systems, databases, reporting tools, and emerging technologies in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage electronic documentation, prepare reports, and communicate effectively through virtual collaboration platforms.
Open to candidates interested in moving to area and obtaining state licensure.
Language skills: English proficient in speaking, writing, and reading.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a laboratory and/or a clinical environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.
Occasional drives to site locations, occasional domestic travel.
Exposure to biological fluids.
Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in an upright and /or stationary position for 6-8 hours per day.
Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate lab equipment.
Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck.
Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
Regular and consistent attendance.
Varied hours may be required.
