Position Summary:
Supervises patient care services provided in the dental hygiene clinic.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides anesthesia for patient care when indicated

  • Administers nitrous oxide when indicated

  • Manages emergency medical procedures when necessary

  • Monitors safety practices and infection control standards in the dental clinic.

  • Authorizes and documents radiographs indicated for patient care.

  • Authorizes dental hygiene treatment plan based on review of medical/dental history.
  • Administers pharmaceutical medications when indicated for patient care.

  • Performs other clinical duties as directed by the Director of Dental Hygiene.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Skills/Competencies/Qualifications:

• Current dental license in state of practice

• Professional experience necessary to understand and fulfill program goals
• Current CPR certification/health care provider

• Excellent oral and written communications

• Five years of full time dental practice experience

Classification: Exempt

Work Hours: May be part-time or full-time, vary daily and include evening/weekend hours.

Travel: None

Working Environment: Interior/Office
