In this position... 
You will drive the development, validation, and continuous improvement of battery manufacturing processes, enhancing yield, efficiency, and cost performance. You'll lead fault resolution and equipment digitalization initiatives, establish robust PFMEA, control plans, and SOPs, and apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies to eliminate waste and variation. Working cross-functionally with design engineering, quality, supply chain, and EHS teams, you'll support new product launches, root cause analysis, and compliance with safety and environmental standards unique to battery manufacturing. This role also calls for mentoring operators and engineers, staying ahead of emerging battery technologies, and thriving in a high-intensity environment that requires flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends—all while fostering a culture of trust, diverse thinking, and strong leadership.
 

What you'll do...

  • Enhance the process capability and production efficiency of existing cable pulling equipment, improving the excellent rate, and reducing energy consumption and manufacturing costs.
  • Develop, validate, and optimize battery manufacturing processes to improve yield, throughput, and cost.
  • Lead major fault maintenance at the base, summarize fault trends, promote experience sharing, and oversee equipment digitalization initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain PFMEA, control plans, and SOPs for battery manufacturing processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies to reduce waste and variation.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, quality, supply chain, EHS, and maintenance teams to resolve issues and support new product launches.
  • Support root cause analysis and processes for scrap reduction, safety incidents, and quality escapes.
  • Analyze production data (SPC, OEE, downtime, scrap) to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements for battery manufacturing (hazardous materials, dry room protocols).
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to operators, technicians, and junior engineers.
  • Participate in benchmarking studies and stay current on emerging battery manufacturing technologies.
  • Ability to adapt to a high-intensity working environment and handle high pressure, challenging work.
  • Candidates must possess full flexibility and a readiness to consistently work across all established standard, operating, and rotational shift schedules, encompassing day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Automation, Chemical, Electrical or related degree.
  • 2 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2 or more years of experience in automotive manufacturing and/or battery cell manufacturing or Electric Vehicle (EV) Battery plant operations
  • Ability to travel including internationally

  • Master's Degree Engineering, Mechanical Automation, Chemical, Electrical or related degree.
  • 3 years plus equipment maintenance experience in mechanical or battery industry.

This position is a range of salary grades 5-8 and ranges from $65,100-$144,900. 
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
