Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking an experienced Construction Recruiter to support recruitment across our utility construction operations in Canada and the United States.
This position will manage full-cycle recruitment for an assigned area of the business, supporting either our Major Projects or Recurring Revenue operations.
We are seeking an experienced recruiter who can independently manage full-cycle recruitment, proactively develop candidate pipelines, and partner closely with operational leaders to deliver timely hiring outcomes across a dynamic, project-based environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own full-cycle recruitment for an assigned portfolio of positions.
- Partner directly with hiring managers to understand workforce requirements, project schedules and hiring priorities.
- Recruit across field, craft, project, construction management, technical and corporate positions.
- Proactively source candidates through direct sourcing, job boards, referrals, networking and other channels.
- Build candidate pipelines for recurring and difficult-to-fill positions.
- Screen and assess candidates and provide clear recommendations to hiring managers.
- Coordinate interviews, candidate communication, references and offers.
- Support high-volume hiring and project mobilizations when workforce requirements increase quickly.
- Maintain accurate requisition and candidate information within our Applicant Tracking System.
- Provide hiring managers with visibility into candidate pipelines, market conditions and recruitment challenges.
- Work closely with the broader People & Culture team to continuously improve how we recruit and the experience we provide candidates.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of full-cycle recruitment experience.
- Experience independently managing multiple open positions and competing hiring priorities.
- Strong sourcing capability and a track record of finding candidates beyond incoming applications.
- Experience working directly with hiring managers and operational leaders.
- Strong organization, communication and follow-through.
- Ability to work with urgency and adapt quickly as business priorities change.
- Experience recruiting within construction, utilities, infrastructure, industrial services or another operational environment is strongly preferred.
- Experience recruiting skilled trades, field employees, project professionals or construction leadership positions is an asset, as is previous Canada/U.S. recruitment experience.
- Experience using an Applicant Tracking System is required; experience with Greenhouse is an asset.
The range shown is the expected base pay range for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on role requirements, experience, qualifications, work location, applicable project/site requirements, internal equity, and any applicable collective agreement or union requirements.
This range does not include overtime, premiums, per diem / LOA, bonuses, benefits, or other forms of compensation unless specifically stated in the job posting.
