Quality Coordinator - Utility Construction

POSITION SUMMARY
Working under the general supervision of the QA/QC Manager and Project Manager (PM), the QA/QC Coordinator will work in conjunction with multiple departments to coordinate the activities required to meet the quality standards of Forbes Bros. Ltd.; ensuring products meet both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Safety Leadership & Compliance
- Inspect production material as assigned for defects
- Report on defects to the appropriate manager
- Perform internal QA audits that are compliant with corporate policies, practices, and procedures
Training & Documentation Management
- Assist with the maintenance of QA monitoring programs, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers
- Support continuous improvement by integrating quality control tools (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) into processes
- Comply with Company QA programs for monitoring supplier quality, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization
- Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation
- Create and maintain QA control documentation
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
- Post-Secondary diploma or degree in an appropriate field, or 2 years relevant quality management or industry training
Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
- Work safely and ability to recognize safety hazards and implement hierarchy of controls to eliminate hazards on site or in office
- Strong listening, problem solving and time management skills with the ability to meet various deadlines
- Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate in a professional manner
- Ability to work independently or within a team environment with minimal supervision
- Able and willing to travel and work frequent overtime and weekend hours to accommodate project schedules and/or business needs
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy lifting
Additional Details
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract
- Successfully complete pre-employment/pre-access drug and alcohol testing to obtain clearance for site access
- Travel and work overtime as required
