Position(s):Operations Coordinator (full-time, permanent)
Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday
Location: Surrey, British Columbia (in office)
Forbes Bros Ltd. is currently seeking an experienced Operations Coordinator (full-time, permanent) to support the day-to-day coordination of activities across two established work portfolios, including recurring revenue (MSA) and project-based work. Based out of Surrey, BC office and reporting directly to the Senior Coordinator, this role plays a key part in ensuring operational workflows run efficiently.
The operations coordinator supports the coordination of work order activities, including assisting with changes, client updates, and required submissions, while ensuring accurate and organized tracking of work and documentation. This role manages information across internal systems and shared platforms, follows up with field teams to address gaps in documentation, and supports billing-related processes as needed. Acting as a key liaison between field operations and internal stakeholders, the position requires strong organization, attention to detail, and experience in a civil construction environment, with a proactive approach to supporting efficient operations and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate and uphold Forbes Bros’ core value of “We Work Safe” in all daily activities.
- Promote continuous improvement by communicating process enhancement ideas with a positive, constructive approach and encouraging the same mindset within the team.
- Provide support for work order allocation activities as required.
- Prepare and coordinate pre-construction change orders.
- Submit BC One Call tickets (initial and refresh) to support civil operations.
- Issue client work order completion notifications in a timely manner.
- Follow up with field foremen to obtain missing or incomplete documentation.
- Support maintenance and accuracy of the Work In Hand (WIH) workbook in coordination with the Work Allocation Coordinator.
- Provide Coverage for Work Allocation Coordinator duties, including ISD extension support as required.
- Manage ShareFile uploads and downloads, ensuring proper document organization and accessibility.
- Assist with emergent service order billing for client work.
- Carry out additional related duties as assigned
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum one (1) years’ experience in an Operations Coordinator or similar role in the construction industry, is required
- Knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, building materials, quality, safety, construction sequences and installation specifications, strongly preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of cost summarization and quantity take-off, an asset
- Strong computer skills and experience having worked with multiple platforms and operating systems including MS Office, Excel, MS Project
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to direct a team to efficiently and effectively complete jobs within deadlines
- Able and willing to present a valid Class 5 Driver's License and an acceptable five (5) year drivers abstract
