POSITION SUMMARY
The Labourer (full-time, permanent) will perform basic tasks involving physical labor in assembly yards at transmission construction projects. They may clean and prepare sites, clean up rubble and debris, and remove potentially hazardous waste materials. Position, join, align, and steal structural components. Labourer's may assist other craft workers.

CORE RESPONSBILITIES
- Emulates Forbes Bros core value of 'WE WORK SAFE' in all daily tasks
- Digging and back-filling trenches
- Pulling and placing underground and overhead cables
- Carrying and moving materials as needed
- Operating small equipment and hand tools
- Spotting for vehicles and equipment
- Site setup and cleanup, ensuring trash, debris and other potential dangerous materials from the construction site are removed
- Assisting craft/crew members with work as directed
- Following instruction and adhering to safe work practices
- Development of skills on varied and challenging tasks
- Work safely and contribute to safety improvement initiatives
- Performing additional tasks and duties as assigned
Candidate Requirements:
- General knowledge of the principals involved in the operation of construction, maintenance methods and procedures is required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a team to efficiently and effectively complete jobs within deadlines
- Ability to travel to frequent overtime hours and weekend hours as required to accommodate to project schedules and needs
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy lifting
- Valid Class 5A driver’s licence with a clean/acceptable driver’s abstract; Class 1A driver’s licence highly preferred.
The range shown is the expected base pay range for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on role requirements, experience, qualifications, work location, applicable project/site requirements, internal equity, and any applicable collective agreement or union requirements.
This range does not include overtime, premiums, per diem / LOA, bonuses, benefits, or other forms of compensation unless specifically stated in the job posting.
