About this role

Who Are We❓

We Are Foodics! a leading restaurant management ecosystem and payment tech provider. Founded in 2014 with headquarters in Riyadh and offices across 5 countries, including UAE, Egypt, Jordan and Kuwait. We are currently serving customers and partners in over 35 different countries worldwide. Our innovative products have successfully processed over 6 billion (yes, billion with a B) orders so far! making Foodics one of the most rapidly evolving SaaS companies to ever emerge from the MENA region.

The Job in a Nutshell 💡

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join the Optimization Team and take ownership of the internal tools we build for Foodics' sales, operations, and support functions. This role is highly hands-on and end-to-end — you will own products from idea to production: frontend, backend, infrastructure, and the stakeholder conversations that shape what gets built. You will work as the engineering counterpart to a small, fast-moving team that ships internal systems used directly by the business, often without the luxury of detailed specs or established playbooks.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities 💡
  • Own end-to-end delivery of internal tools — from product idea, through architecture and implementation, to production deployment and ongoing maintenance.
  • Translate operational and business problems into working software, often from rough briefs rather than detailed specifications.
  • Work as a full-stack contributor: build frontends (React/TypeScript), backends (Node.js/Express), and data layers (PostgreSQL) — without handing parts off.
  • Use AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, or similar) as a genuine productivity multiplier — not just to autocomplete.
  • Make pragmatic architecture decisions and document them, so the next person (or the next AI agent) can pick up where you left off.
  • Deploy and operate services on Google Cloud Platform: Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Secret Manager, and related services.
  • Partner directly with the Optimization team's Director and analysts to shape what gets built, in what order, and at what depth.
  • Integrate with internal and external systems (Foodics Pay, Salesforce, Wathq, Metabase) via APIs and webhooks.
  • Take responsibility for the production health of what you build — including monitoring, incident response, and cybersecurity considerations.
  • Mentor and unblock other engineers and AI-assisted contributors working on the same codebases, including reviewing pull requests.
  • Continuously improve the development workflow — CI, branch protection, secret management, staging environments — so the team moves faster and safer over time.
What Are We Looking For ❓

Required

  • 4+ years of professional full-stack engineering experience with the receipts to back it up — production systems you've shipped and supported.
  • Strong command of modern JavaScript/TypeScript across the stack: React on the frontend, Node.js/Express (or similar) on the backend.
  • Proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
  • Real, day-to-day fluency with AI coding agents — you treat them as production tools, understand their failure modes, and have shipped meaningful work with them.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complete products end-to-end without waiting for detailed requirements or product specs.
  • Comfortable owning infrastructure: deploying to a cloud provider (GCP, AWS, or Azure), managing secrets, and operating production services.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English — you will work with non-engineering stakeholders daily.
  • High-agency mindset: you close the loop without being asked twice and surface risks early.
  • Based in Egypt or Jordan with the legal right to work there.

Nice to have

  • Direct experience deploying and operating on Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Secret Manager).
  • Familiarity with PostgREST, row-level security, and database-level authorization patterns.
  • Experience integrating with Salesforce, Saudi-specific APIs (Wathq, Nafath), or payment platforms.
  • Background in SaaS, FinTech, or operations-heavy companies.
  • Arabic language skills, for engaging with regional integrations and documentation.
  • Open-source contributions or public technical writing.
