About the Role:

The Senior Housekeeper plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall presentation of the accommodation facilities, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests. This position involves overseeing the housekeeping team, coordinating daily cleaning schedules, and ensuring that all areas meet the highest standards of hygiene and aesthetics. The Senior Housekeeper will also be responsible for training new staff members and implementing best practices in cleaning and maintenance. Additionally, this role requires regular inspections of guest rooms and common areas to ensure compliance with established protocols. Ultimately, the Senior Housekeeper contributes significantly to guest satisfaction and the overall reputation of the establishment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in housekeeping or a similar role, with at least 3 years in a supervisory position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in hospitality management or a related field.
  • Experience with inventory management and staff scheduling.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the housekeeping staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to maintain cleanliness and address any issues promptly.
  • Train and mentor new housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that all necessary items are stocked and in good condition.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address guest requests and special cleaning needs, ensuring a seamless experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit.
  • Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
  • Frequently required to talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 25 pounds.

The required skills for this position include strong leadership abilities, which are essential for effectively managing the housekeeping team and ensuring high standards of cleanliness. Attention to detail is crucial, as the Senior Housekeeper must conduct thorough inspections and identify areas needing improvement. Time management skills are also important, as the role involves coordinating multiple tasks and schedules efficiently.
