About the Role
As a Building and Facilities Engineer, you will be part of the Corporate Services Team, supporting the maintenance, technical operations, and continuous improvement of our head office, warehouses, and showrooms. You will play a key role in ensuring our facilities remain safe, efficient, and fully operational by leading maintenance activities, coordinating engineering projects, and collaborating with technicians, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Operations & Maintenance
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and structural issues across corporate sites, warehouses, and showrooms.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure facilities remain in optimal condition.
- Coordinate operational services, including scheduling and monitoring pest control and other maintenance activities.
- Install, maintain, and repair CCTV systems and other building security hardware.
- Manage the inventory of engineering tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
Engineering Projects & Technical Support
- Review architectural plans and engineering drawings with a focus on MEPFS (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Sanitary) systems.
- Assist in planning, executing, and monitoring facilities improvement and construction projects.
- Prepare project documentation, timelines, and technical presentations for management approval.
- Ensure engineering projects comply with company standards, property management requirements, and applicable regulations.
Team Coordination & Vendor Management
- Coordinate daily work schedules and provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians.
- Monitor the quality and timely completion of maintenance and repair activities.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and service providers for specialized repairs and engineering works.
- Conduct site inspections with property management teams and contractors to resolve technical punch list items.
Compliance & Safety
- Process engineering-related permits and documentation with regulatory agencies, including the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
- Ensure compliance with the National Building Code, fire safety regulations, and company policies.
- Promote workplace safety and support continuous improvement initiatives for facilities operations.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Professional Engineering License (Registered Engineer) is an advantage
- At least 6 months of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, construction, or a related field
- Experience coordinating maintenance activities or working with technical teams
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical schematics
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Willingness to travel between company sites when necessary
Nice-to-Have (Optional but Recommended)
- Knowledge of MEPFS systems and building maintenance best practices
- Familiarity with the National Building Code, BFP requirements, and regulatory compliance processes
- Experience with CCTV installation, basic networking, and security systems
- Experience coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and property management teams
- Background in facilities management, property management, or construction projects
