SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Ensure the technical workforce has the knowledge, skills and resources to successfully perform their job duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Create graphical and video-based work instructions where required.
- Create and track on-the-job (OJT) onboarding training requirements for key production roles.
- Assist Supervisors and subject matter experts having the ability and resources to onboard new employees.
- Train workforce on company-wide work standards and processes.
- Approximately 50% creating and editing graphical and video -based documentation for reference and instruction; 40% creating onboarding programs and delivering/enabling technical training; 10%administration/other.
- Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, company policy and accepted safe work practices.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
- 3-5 years’ experience creating technical documentation in a variety of formats.
- 3 years’ experience delivering instructor-led technical training either in a classroom or on-the-job setting.
- 3 years’ experience of professional interaction either in a customer service role, or similar professional interaction.
- Familiarity working in and around a formal documentation environment (i.e., ISO9001).
- Creative; some demonstrated experience thinking up and developing new, better, and innovative ways to work.
- Ability to interact with fellow employees and customers in a professional manner.
- Mostly independent; can design and prioritize work with limited supervision and direction.
- Some experience creating and/or editing video-based technical instruction with common video editing software (similar to: Camtasia, Final Cut, Premier, etc.).
- High skill level with desktop/Laptop computer skills using Microsoft Window Office products. Demonstrated ability to create charts and graphs in Excel.
- Experience working in a modern learning management system.
- Occasional travel may be required to CA corporate office.
- Completed formal training in the areas of adult learning, technical training, technical documentation, and editing
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills. Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:
- Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor
- Ability to operate a computer, mouse, and computer applications.
- Exert up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading instrumentation and documentation.
- Able to hear and understand spoken directions
WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:
- Approximately 90/10 office/shop floor environment
- Low noise levels in office environment.
- High noise levels while working near operating machines.
- Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts
- Possible breathing of fumes, odors, dust, and mist.
