SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

Responsible for the leadership, supervision and operational execution of quality department programs to include inspection, non-conforming product, first article and calibration tooling. Provides direct line management to inspection department and quality coordination team members. A key responsibility of the position is to provide active line management of lab output and direct interface with manufacturing and other support departments. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Manage various aspects of the plant quality operation including inspection operations, staffing and scheduling, Lab capacity and throughput; first article reporting, non-conforming product management, assessments, team development and interdepartmental communication. 
  • Sets appropriate goals for department staff. 
  • Evaluate and enhance quality standards, technologies and approaches. 
  • Act as a strong advocate for quality in the New Product Development Process. 
  • Represent the company externally in conversations with key customers and partners. 
  • Synthesize quality performance data for presentation to executive leadership 
  • Drive improvement to the department key performance metrics (COPQ, QPPM, Supplier Quality QPPM, DMR/RMA rate 
  • Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and Regulations 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) from four-year College or university in an Engineering or Quality discipline (preferred); or 5+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Advanced Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T Techniques 
  • 5+ years of demonstrated success leading and managing Quality in a manufacturing or industrial setting (i.e., machining, semiconductor equipment, automotive). 
  • Ability to write process descriptions, assembly, and manufacturing instructions 
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Word, Project, Adobe Acrobat 
  • Ability to Read and interpret manufacturing drawings “Blueprints”, solid understanding of GD&T
