SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for kitting helicoils for jobs, installing helicoils, cutting gaskets or masking, dowel pins, keencerts, captive screws, pem nuts/studs and Lee plugs on repeat or proven parts with all levels of complexity on various materials such as aluminum, steel, plastic and copper with little to no direction from area Lead or Supervisor. Polishing sealing surface lay patterns on a variety of post anodize parts.
- Operate a variety of pneumatic or electric power finishing tools such but not limited to orbital sander, DA sander, flappers and die grinders.
- Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications.
- Follow the blueprint or instructions to achieve required surface finishes such as lay patterns and sealing surfaces.
- Ensure company procedures and “best machine practices” are being always followed and are in place.
- Install helicoils and dowel pins into parks and subassemblies using blueprints and shop routers to determine size, quantity, and location.
- Mask sealing surface lay patterns and polish to achieve desired surface finish on variety of post anodize parts.
- Polish O’ring(s) to achieve desired surface finish on variety of post anodize parts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED equivalent, or Technical School.
- Must be reliable and have excellent attendance.
- 4-6 years’ related experience preferred.
- Enrolled in vocational education for machine technology or practical aspects of blueprint reading, GD&T preferred.
