DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for planning, organizing and controlling the flow of production parts to support scheduling of orders and services for established and scheduled customer commitments; receiving and responding to customer inquiries, communicating potential schedule impacts and escalating issues to the internal business manager; working closely with internal departments such as manufacturing, procurement, materials, engineering, quality and the business manager to ensure timely communication of lead times, schedule impacts and changes, material shortages, etc.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Process timely release of shop orders in quantities that support upper level demand
  • Define, monitor and adjust planning as conditions in the processes or demand stream change
  • Generate and respond to various ERP/MRP reporting to ensure in-tact schedules and priorities are properly defined for the shop floor, procurement, business manager, etc.
  • Maintain weekly/monthly production schedule, execute the subsequent MRP cycles where applicable to support the desired schedules
  • Provide professional Customer service by responding to customer inquiries, communicating change orders and schedule impacts, and escalate any potential issues to the business manager
  • Participate in production meetings and assist with necessary administrative functions
  • Interact with other Company departments to ensure system data is accurate, outputs are valid and changes that affect shop load and scheduling are communicated in a timely manner
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned
  • Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices.

 

RECOMMENDED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:

  • CPIM or CSCP certifications

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • BA/BS degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Operations and 2-3 years of related work experience; or 3-5 years of related work experience and professional certification in Supply Chain Management, Planning, Logistics, or similar.
  • Experience utilizing an ERP/MRP system, Epicor Vantage or SAP preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Successfully manage frequently changing priorities
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel, and adept at using Microsoft Word, Outlook
  • Apply common sense and use discretion in business dealings
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
