As the Financial Reporting Supervisor, you will be taking on a lead supervisory role in developing, implementing, maintaining and reviewing financial reporting procedures. You will be responsible for high priority special projects and initiatives in the accounting department under limited direction with minimal supervision. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that all journal entries are posted in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles, preparing and analyzing financial reports and assisting with the annual audit. You will be responsible for setting priorities and goals for the team that support the strategic plan and direction of the accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare Set priorities and goals for the team that support the strategic plan and direction of the accounting staff
Respond to internal and external customer needs and inquiries
Manage and develop team whose primary focus is to understand and report the financial recap from our various oil and gas assets on a monthly basis
Instill confidence in team with respect to their position and interaction with the commercial and contract admin groups
As a team, create and maintain desk procedures and process workflows
Review and approve journal entries
Review reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and explanation of variances on a monthly basis
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and ad hoc reporting
Lead and assist with special projects as needed
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Accounting certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) is a plus
Proven work experience as an Accounting Supervisor
Strong computer skills, MS Excel (managing spreadsheets, creating charts and using advanced formulas)
Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulations
Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data
Attention to detail and accuracy
Team management skills
Ability to prioritize work
