We are seeking an experienced, analytical, and self-directed Senior Corporate Finance Associate to join our growing team. This role leads the corporate finance team’s financial modeling and strategic planning efforts, with a focus on evaluating and executing equity and debt financing activities, capital structure strategy, and long-range liquidity planning.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in upstream oil and gas finance, hands-on transaction execution across debt and equity capital markets, and the judgment to translate complex analysis into clear recommendations for senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Financial Modeling & Capital Structure Analysis

Support and assist in enhancing the corporate financial model, including scenario and sensitivity analysis across commodity price, production, and capital spending assumptions

Model and evaluate debt and equity financing alternatives, including impacts on leverage, liquidity, cost of capital, and covenant headroom

Perform variance analysis to explain changes in liquidity, working capital, and operating cash flows, and translate findings into actionable insights

Lead ad-hoc analysis for senior leadership, including returns analysis, capital allocation trade-offs, and financing decision support

Strategic Planning & Capital Allocation

Drive the long-range planning process, integrating development plans, hedging strategy, and financing assumptions into a cohesive corporate outlook

Develop capital allocation frameworks and recommendations across debt reduction, reinvestment, and shareholder return alternatives

Prepare board, management, and stakeholder materials supporting strategic and financing decisions

Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, and Reservoir Engineering to align planning assumptions and outputs

Equity & Debt Financing Execution

Lead execution workstreams for financing transactions, including RBL redeterminations and amendments, term debt and securitized financings, and equity or equity-linked raises

Prepare lender, rating agency, and investor materials, including bank presentations, borrowing base support, and marketing data rooms

Coordinate with external advisors, legal counsel, and lender groups through diligence, documentation, and closing

Evaluate financing implications of A&D activity, supporting valuation, due diligence, and lender notification processes for acquisitions and divestitures

Debt Compliance & Credit Agreement Administration

Oversee ongoing compliance under the company’s financing agreements, including covenant calculations, compliance certificates, and required lender deliverables

Review borrowing base data and production/hedge reporting prepared by junior team members

Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Accounting to ensure alignment between financial reporting and covenant calculations

Leadership & Process Improvement

Mentor and review the work of corporate finance analysts, providing guidance on modeling standards and deliverable quality

Identify and implement opportunities to make reporting, modeling, and planning processes more efficient, consistent, and scalable

QualificationsQualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

3–7 years of experience in corporate banking, corporate finance, leveraged finance, or energy finance, with direct exposure to debt and/or equity transactions

Advanced financial modeling skills, including three-statement, scenario, and capital structure modeling; expert-level Excel proficiency

Working knowledge of credit agreements, covenant structures, and reserve-based lending

Proven ability to manage complex workstreams independently, synthesize analysis for executive audiences, and lead cross-functional efforts

Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience preparing board- and lender-quality materials

Preferred Attributes

Experience executing upstream or midstream oil & gas financing or A&D transactions

Understanding of energy-specific capital markets, including RBL facilities, high-yield debt, PDP securitizations, and structured finance instruments

Experience interfacing with lenders, rating agencies, or institutional investors

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deal-oriented environment and mentor junior team members
