Finance Business Partner - Global Corporate Technology

Queensland · On-site

About this role

Flight Centre Travel Group’s corporate business runs on technology. Around $100 million a year of it, covering booking platforms, data, product development and the licence stack that holds it all together, powering FCM, M&E, Corporate Traveller and Stage and Screen across a large network of countries.

Right now, nobody owns the commercial story behind that number. Spend is growing, the technology roadmap is ambitious, and the business needs to know what it is buying, what it is getting back and where the next dollar is best spent. That is this role.

Day to day you will be...

You will be the finance voice inside the global technology leadership team, partnering directly with the Global Chief Technology Officer. Day to day you report to the CTO. From a finance perspective you report to the Global Head of Transactional Finance here in Brisbane, so you get the reach of a global function with the support, culture and career path of the local team.

This is a build, not a maintain. There is no inherited pack to churn out each month and no template waiting for you. The early work is getting to an accurate, trusted view of the cost base, then shifting the conversation from what technology costs to what it returns.

What you will own

  • A clean P&L for global technology, cut by product and by discipline, that the business actually trusts

  • The split between run the business and genuine investment, and a proper investment budget built off it

  • ROI models and business cases for new capability, then tracking whether the benefit turned up

  • Licence and vendor spend, finding cost out without denting operations

  • One consistent view across APAC, EMEA, the Americas, working shoulder to shoulder with regional finance and technology leads

  • Clarity on internal recharges and what the shared technology teams charge the business

  • The commercial narrative for the CTO, the Global Corporate CFO and the executive team

Big, ambiguous problems land on your desk and you get the room to solve them your way.

You'll be perfect if you have...

  • CA/CPA qualified with a commerce, accounting or finance degree

  • 5+ years in commercial finance, FP&A or business partnering. Technology, SaaS or IT cost experience is valued, not essential

  • Strong modelling skills and genuine comfort with messy data pulled from multiple systems and regions

  • You know your way around capex and opex, software capitalisation and amortisation

  • You can start from a blank page and work out the answer yourself

  • Confident challenging senior stakeholders, including a CTO who wants answers rather than reports

  • Energised by autonomy, big projects and a stakeholder group spread across time zones

Travel industry experience is not required. Curiosity, commercial instinct and the drive to fix something properly are.

Company at a glance

Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) is one of the world’s largest travel companies, employing 12,000 like-minded individuals – known as ‘Flighties’.

Our story dates to 1973, when founder Graham Turner (aka “Skroo") and friend Geoff “Spy” Lomas buy a double-decker bus and take off on their first tour around Spain, Portugal and Morrocco, 3 years later forming the first business, Top Deck. After flight deregulations in the 80s our first retail "Flight Centre" stores opened in Australia in 1982, London in 1984, and NZ in 1987.

1987 was also the year we held our first “Global Gathering” awards event celebrating our amazing people, a tradition that continues to this day.

And in 2025 we launched our very first loyalty program, World360 Rewards! Our Australian customers now able to earn and redeem points across Flight Centre, Travel Associates, and Cruiseabout.

We’re in our 40s now and a lot has changed! With global headquarters in Brisbane, Australia, our company owned leisure and corporate travel businesses span three major regions: APAC, The Americas and EMEA.

Our flagship corporate travel management brand, FCM, extends our reach even further through a network covering over 100 countries via both company-owned operations and independent licensees.

With 30 brands across our global footprint, our team spans from customer-facing to internal support roles. The opportunities just as diverse – from a Travel Consultant at Flight Centre or Envoyage, to a Machine Learning Scientist in one of our tech pillars.

Together, we live and breathe our number one philosophy, Our People, driven by our purpose ‘To open up the world for those who want to see’.

Our values are simple and powerful - Ownership, Egalitarianism and Irreverence.

We support our people with opportunities to help you thrive, connect, give, move and be rewarded. Our people have access to a suite of curated benefits to ensure holistic wellbeing – from mental and physical health to financial freedom.
