About this role

A.        GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • The electro/mechanical adjustment, maintenance and cleanliness of all plant Weld/Assembly Equipment and work areas on a day-to-day basis.


B.        SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • Promote and enforce a safe and healthy work environment in accordance with applicable legislation and company policies and procedures; work and dress safely (i.e. properly wear all necessary personal protective equipment, demonstrate safe use of all machinery, equipment and supplies.)
  • Adjust Assembly/Weld Equipment to comply with customer welding and dimensional specifications, to provide a quality part to manufacturing at the required production rates.
  • Carry out all maintenance and adjustments to equipment in a timely manner.
  • Communicate interruptions in production or Quality issues to shift supervisor and fellow technicians.
  • Communicate maintenance issues with the on coming shift.
  • Ensure equipment and work areas are in a clean and safe operating condition.
  • Ensure all suspect material/parts are properly identified and dispositioned.
  • Report all downtime including resolution and duration in Weld Technician’s Daily Log.
  • Carryout changeovers of welders for different jobs.
  • Use sign out procedure when replacing defective components from crib stock.
  • Analyze equipment and suggest Continuous Improvement ideas.
  • Report all Heath and Safety Issues/Hazards to shift supervisor.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

C.        POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


  • Minimum 2 years experience in a metal stamping facility conducting equipment maintenance.
  • Possess a Post secondary degree, diploma or a Provincial skilled trades ticket in a related field, or equivalent.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.


D.        REPORTING STRUCTURE:


  • Weld Assembly Manager and Robotics/ Weld Technician Supervisor
