Job Position Summary
Maritime Lawyer to support the group in review of ship management related contracts and dispute management
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Review of ship management contracts such as Shipman, Crewman, Superman and Managers Undertaking
- Review of crewing related documentation such as manning agreements, seafarer employment agreements
- Dispute Management
- Review of miscellaneous contracts
- Updating internal polices such as sanctions SOP
- Keeping abreast of changes in maritime laws and sanctions
Relationship (mostly Internal and or External) and Nature of Communication
- Direct and sole reporting line will be to the Group Legal Director
- Liaise with various stakeholders such as the business development team, new building team, manning team and vessel management team
Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications
- Qualification – LLB from a reputed law school in India and LLM in maritime law
- 6-10 years of work experience with a tier 1 or 2 law firm in their shipping practice or in-house in a shipping company
Competencies
- Good communication in English Language.
- Articulate
- Good drafting skills with ability to pay attention to detail
- Quick turn around time with ability to work with colleagues in different locations and time zones
