Job Role & Responsibilities
Responsible for leading and managing the Security Operations Center (SOC) team to ensure continuous monitoring, detection, analysis, and response to cybersecurity incidents. The SOC Manager oversees SOC operations, defines strategies, ensures compliance with security policies, and coordinates incident response efforts across the organization.
The role includes managing SOC tools, improving detection capabilities, and aligning SOC activities with business and risk management objectives. Requires leadership, strategic thinking, and availability during critical incidents.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities include:
Lead and manage SOC operations (L1, L2 teams).
Define and implement SOC processes, procedures, and playbooks.
Oversee monitoring of security alerts and incidents across the organization.
Ensure proper triage, escalation, and incident response handling.
Develop and maintain incident response plans and disaster recovery strategies.
Provide regular reports and dashboards to senior management and CISO.
Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Lead threat hunting and threat intelligence initiatives.
Conduct performance reviews and mentor SOC team members.
Collaborate with IT, Risk, Compliance, and other departments.
Manage third-party vendors and security service providers.
Drive continuous improvement in detection and response capabilities.
Ensure 24x7 SOC coverage and resource planning.
Handle high-pressure situations and critical security incidents effectively.
Requirements
Desired Skills
Strong experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR, DLP technologies.
Advanced knowledge of incident response and threat management.
Ability to design and optimize security monitoring use cases.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills under pressure.
Experience in threat intelligence and threat hunting methodologies.
Deep understanding of network security, protocols, and infrastructure.
Familiarity with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, etc.).
Experience in risk assessment and security control evaluation.
Ability to create executive-level reports and presentations.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Hands-on experience with tools like Splunk (preferred).
Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIH, GCFA are highly preferred.

Qualifications
Solid experience in SOC operations and incident response management.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity architecture and best practices.
Experience with Windows & nix platforms.
Knowledge of scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and projects.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role.
