JOB DESCRIPTION
The Personal Training Director in Training is a leadership-development position responsible for learning and executing the full scope of the Personal Training Director role while continuing to personally service Personal Training clients. This position supports the Personal Training Director in leading the department at an assigned club location — developing trainers, driving revenue and enrollment performance, and delivering an exceptional member experience — while building the leadership, business, and operational capabilities required to advance to Personal Training Director. The Personal Training Director in Training is accountable both for personal client results and production and for supporting the overall performance of the department.

Scope of Authority
The Personal Training Director in Training operates under the direction of the Personal Training Director and is expected to take ownership of assigned areas of the department while developing toward full Director responsibility. This position may act on behalf of the Personal Training Director for day-to-day operational matters as expressly delegated, but does not hold independent authority over staffing, compensation, discipline, or budget decisions.
Span of Control & Organizational Relationship
This position supports the Personal Training department at the assigned club location and provides leadership support for, or works alongside, the following positions:
•Elite Trainer
•Master Trainer
•Personal Trainer

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership Development & Team Support
•Learn and execute the full scope of the Personal Training Director role under the direction of the Personal Training Director.
•Support the recruitment, onboarding, and development of Personal Trainers at the assigned location.
•Assist in conducting team meetings and Trainer 1:1 meetings, providing direction, motivation, and guidance toward individual and Company goals.
•Coach Personal Trainers on session delivery, program design, client communication, and Company service standards.
•Complete all assigned leadership development coursework and Director readiness requirements within Company-established timeframes.
•Model Company standards and Core Values on the training floor at all times.

Personal Production & Client Delivery
•Personally service qualifying Personal Training sessions and maintain an active personal client base.
•Deliver professional, results-driven Personal Training sessions consistent with Company programming standards.
•Conduct CrunchONE Kickoff sessions and convert qualifying sessions into Fixed Recurring Personal Training agreements.
•Maintain personal client retention, client lifespan, and enrollment performance against Company targets.

Business & Revenue Support
•Support achievement of the department’s monthly, quarterly, and annual Personal Training revenue objectives.
•Support achievement of CrunchONE Kickoff attachment, completion, and conversion targets at the location.
•Support local marketing initiatives, member engagement events, and Company-approved social media content.
•Drive retail and supplementation sales performance (e.g., dotFIT, PES/PE Science, or other Company-approved retail programs).

Client Experience & Retention
•Ensure clients receive proper documentation, including client folders and accurately logged program and meal-plan records, in accordance with Company standards.
•Ensure clients receive scheduled monthly results reviews and ongoing accountability consistent with Company standards.
•Use Company dashboards and reporting tools to identify and re-engage at-risk clients.

Compliance, Systems & Records
•Accurately record all hours worked, sessions, and events in Workday and Company-designated systems.
•Maintain all required certifications and qualifications, including current CPR and AED certification and applicable NASM or other Company-approved certifications, and keep credentials current in Company systems (e.g., ClubConnect).
•Complete all required onboarding and ongoing coursework through Company-designated platforms (e.g., MindTickle, ClubConnect).
•Follow Company policy on client payment types, billing practices, and collections, and promptly report suspected falsification of records, theft, or other loss-prevention concerns.
•Support and maintain Company cleanliness and facility standards wihin Personal Training areas.
•Perform additional duties as assigned by the Company based on business needs.

Experience & Qualifications
•Prior experience delivering Personal Training or comparable coaching services preferred.
•Demonstrated success building and retaining a personal client base preferred.
•Interest in and commitment to advancing into a Personal Training Director role.

Education & Certification
•High school diploma or GED required.
•Current nationally accredited Personal Training certification required (NASM or other certification on the Crunch Fitness Certification Approval List).
•Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification required.
•ClubConnect education requirements completed as established by the Company.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
•Ability to move throughout club floors and rooms; review, revise, and create club-related paperwork; and communicate effectively with employees, members, and the public.
•Regularly required to demonstrate, instruct, and physically participate in proper physical fitness activities, techniques, and procedures while personally servicing Personal Training sessions.
•Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds.
•Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and remain on the training floor for extended periods.

Travel Requirements
This position is based at a single assigned club location. Occasional travel is required for Company meetings, training, and events as business needs require.

Work Schedule
This is a non-exempt, hourly position. Scheduling is set in advance by the Personal Training Director based on member demand and the operational needs of the location, and typically includes evenings and weekends. All hours worked must be accurately recorded, and all required meal and rest periods must be taken.
